The factory torque converter stalls well above the engine’s torque peak turning usable power into transmission heat. IPT lowers the converter stall speed to take advantage of your engine’s peak torque which results in increased towing ability, better fuel economy, reduced transmission temperatures and better power and acceleration throughout the power band.
