I was wondering what kind of automatic transmission upgrades are available for us Acura RSX Automatic owners. There are a lot of us over at ClubRSX.com that would love to be the first one on the block to break the tranny barrier and add a turbocharger, supercharger or other forced induction, or naturally aspirated technique. The RSX Automatic is SEVERLY lacking much needed support for tranny tuning, and I think there are a few of us that want better performance trannys.

For most Honda and Acura transmissions, upgrades are only performed in conjunction with a full build of the unit.

The configuration of these transmissions makes what are typically 'bolt on' type upgrades such as a modified valve body impossible without removing the transmission and fully disassembling it.

That said, an upgraded transmission will feature greatly improved durability and performance and a properly configured torque converter will allow you to accelerate from a standstill much more quickly.

well, bumpin this old thread up.

i'm the first Hondata KPro'd rsx auto and currently boosted. putting down 256whp/222wtq tuned by st00pidfast, a very reputable shop.

i'm interested in some tranny work. what can be done? there are a lot more base automatics who will be on a more aggressive performance path now that Skunk2 is releasing stg1,2,3 camshafts for the k20a3 (base engine). and now with a standalone EMS system that works for the automatic (kpro), anything is possible.

i've already completed an intake manifold swap from the k20a2 (type-s).

if u have something that can be done, i'd be glad to do business and help market it if u want. let alone try it. if u need me to get ahold of a MRMA tranny for u to mess with, i can do it.

heres some info of the car:
